Worcestershire On Film

We are continuing to work closely with the Worcestershire Record Office on the ‘Worcestershire on Film’ project which will see a large amount of local film material preserved, catalogued and made accessible.  As part of this project we worked closely with Seven Inch Cinema and Worcestershire Archives to screen material at a number of free events held in venues across the county during the Autumn of 2008.

A total of 855 people attended the screenings which showcased material ranging from Cecil Hepworth’s 1920 film of the Malvern Hills to film of a man from Evesham trying to walk with ferrets stuffed down his trousers.

The project is continuing in 2009 and will include more screenings – the first date for your diaries is the 15th of April at Artrix in Bromsgrove – as well as material that can be viewed on DVD at the Record Office in Worcester.

Thanks to Ian and Pip of Seven Inch Cinema for the photographs of audiences at the Fleece Inn Barn at Bretforton and at the Guildhall in Worcester.
