East Leake & District Local History Society joins Full Circle

Keith Hodgkinson the new chair of East Leake & District local history society and members warmly welcomed me when I visited them to talk about the Full Circle project.

At their meeting in September the committee discussed the project and agreed it was a worthwhile scheme to join. They will do a promotion at their Christmas social event on December 8th for members, when they will try to recruit a leader for the project from the wider village.

The society has already found 5 reels of old film, at least 2 of which are films of the local Scouts – contents otherwise unknown.  “The  projector is now defunct and the sprocket holes look a bit dodgy” said Keith. This is where the Full Circle project can be really useful in bringing these memories to life and sharing them with the rest of the community, by making a copy of the film onto DVD.

Keith said the society has been active in the village and in the local district since 1979. They have a lively committee who organise meetings, displays and visits to local places of interest and always welcome new members. For more information contact Keith on chairman@eastleake-history.org.uk
