Emma’s Review of 2010 – 1 – WeVee

It’s been such a great year at MACE, a rollercoaster of so many events, highs and lows (and ending on a high which we will report in the coming weeks!) and such a priviledge, personally to be part of such a dedicated team of colleagues. So, at the end of a great year, here are a few of the highlights from my perspective:

WeVee

In January www.wevee.co.uk was launched – a unique collaboration between content people and web people in answer to the UK Film Council’s Digital Film Archive Fund – the brief: to bring film archives to brand new audiences.

Devised by Television Junctions, digital arm, In-Cahoots with Clusta, their challenge was to ‘unearth our regional history of archive film and video, searching out the gems and making them available for users to edit into their own WeVees using [their] unique online edit tool.’

WeVee is about making and sharing your own meanings about the past, reflecting on where we’ve come from and where we’re heading to.

Every three months, MACE has been providing a fresh batch of moving images to the site, ensuring users’ creativity is inspired with new images to view and interact with – and this will continue.

We’ve very proud to contribute to this website and look forward to seeing it grow and evolve in the coming months and years.
