25 & Under? Create a ‘Wevee’ for your chance to have it screened at First Light Awards Ceremony!

A Call out to our younger followers! Read on about an exciting opportunity if you’re aged 5 to 25 years!

A competition!
As our regular readers know, we provide footage to the fantastic mash up tool, Wevee – see www.wevee.co.uk

Since its launch, Wevee has partnered with First Light and if you visit the site you will notice there are plenty of interesting animations and drama clips from First Light on the website already.
This month, Wevee are  inviting young filmmakers (those of you aged 5-25yrs) to create the montage for this year’s First Light awards ceremony and have the chance of having it screened at Odeon, Leicester Square in front a star-studded audience at the 2011 First Light Awards!

Clips of the nominated films are now on WeVee tagged as ‘FL2011’ and a chosen piece of music called Chaos Engine from Cinephonix.

The idea is, during the awards ceremony they will play the short mash-up of a variety of films nominated for awards, and what you need to do is create that mash-up – picking the best bits of the nominated films and making a WeVee with them, adding the assigned Chaos Engine music track.

Have a mash-up at http://www.wevee.co.uk

The film is saved & stored on WeVee so no need to post anything to us or First Light! Just make sure you publish it to the public gallery and tag it as FL2011.
The closing date is Friday 14 February.
The best three films will then be selected and screened on the First Light website www.firstlightonline.co.uk on Monday 21 February where they will be put to a public vote to decide the winner.
All three shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to attend the First Light Awards which will take place on 15th March 2011 at The Odeon, Leicester Square, London, where the winning film will open the prestigious First Light Awards Ceremony.
