MACE hold many films, both amateur and professional, of Queen Elizabeth’s visits to the East and West Midlands from before her reign to the 1990, and in run up to to the diamond jubilee celebrations what better moment to highlight some of the films we hold that are available to view online.

In this clip, broadcast on 24th April 1957, Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visit Kidderminster, Worcester, Ledbury and Leominster. You will see the Queen arriving in Kidderminster Town Hall, on 23rd April, where she was met by the Mayor Alderman Tolley with crowds waving their flags outside. You will then see her arriving at a function at Worcester Guildhall, again on 23rd April. The remainder of the item was shot on the 24th April and shows crowds in Ledbury and the Queen on a walk-about. Finally, you will see the Queen at Grange Court in Leominster meeting dignitaries including the Mayor D. Rowland Jones.
