MACE screening Trent Bridge Cricket Ground films at Broadway, 9 July, 6pm

Trent Bridge Banner

MACE’s Curator (Programming & Research), Philip Leach will be introducing a screening of films of the Trent Bridge cricket ground in Nottingham at Broadway Cinema on 9 July at 6pm.

The screening, to mark the first Ashes Test at Trent Bridge this month will take a look at Trent Bridge from the 1930s to the 1980s . Highlights come with visits by touring sides from the West Indies with Garfield Sobers on form and Australia including a 1964 Ashes match. Famous Nottinghamshire faces will be on show from Harold Larwood to Derek Randall. From the manufacture of cricket bats to the members of the ladies pavilion at Trent Bridge the screening includes plenty of nostalgia for those days in the sun (weather permitting of course).
