MACE’s Director Inspires Film Programmers to think differently about archives at ICO Course

On Thursday 26th September in Birmingham, MACE’s Director James Patterson was one of a group of speakers at the Independent Cinema Office (ICO)’s one day course, ‘The Business and Creativity of Programming Cultural Film’.

The course for individuals working in film programming  led by Head of Cinemas at ICO David Sin, covered many topics including rights, digital programming, funding and ‘how to excite and develop your local audience with event cinema or archive film‘.  James, who was joined by Ian Francis, Creative Director of Flatpack Festival and 7 Inch Cinema, received excellent feedback from delegates who went away inspired to think about how archive could be included in film programming.
