ROCKERS, SOULHEADS AND LOVERS: SOUND SYSTEMS BACK IN DA DAY

ROCKERS, SOULHEADS & LOVERS: SOUND SYSTEMS BACK IN DA DAY is an upcoming exhibition at the New Art Exchange in Nottingham exploring the golden era of African-Caribbean sound systems from the 1960s to the early 1980s.

This exciting project will take the form of an atmospheric audio visual installation capturing the sights and sounds of blues parties and shebeens.  The exhibition will feature the personal stories and photographs from early sound system pioneers in Nottingham and the ‘ravers’ who danced wherever they ‘played out’.

The exhibition opens with a Launch Event and Blues Party on the 10th October 7pm- 12am and the exhibition itself will run until until 3rd January 2016.

Where: New Art Exchange
